A MESSAGE TO OUR PATRONS

Thank you for being with us for our 10th anniversary season of magnificent music-making—down on the farm and in a barn.
Because of your passion for music and your commitment to the mission of The Steinway Series at Silo Hill—reinventing the classical music experience while raising awareness and funding for Parkinson’s research and support services, we have presented more than 70 extraordinary artists and raised approximately $160,000 to help combat Parkinson’s disease. What began as an idea in a barn has become something far greater than we ever imagined: community brought together by great music and a shared purpose.

From our inaugural concert featuring famed mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade and pianist Arno Drucker to our most recent performance by violinist and pianist Ray Ushikubo, every Steinway Series at Silo Hill concert has played to a sold-out house. 

There has been a price, however, for that success: we have outgrown the barn. In an effort to meet demand, we have been working to move the Series to a different, slightly larger venue.

During that process, the unexpected happened. The Baltimore Steinway & Sons Gallery notified us it will be closing its doors at the end of this year. Steinway has been a key sponsor and an essential partner in making the Series possible. 

And so, after ten remarkable seasons, and with decidedly mixed emotions, The Steinway Series at Silo Hill will be closing its barn doors.

We are deeply grateful to our extraordinary artists, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and especially to all of you—our patrons. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and belief in what we set out to create have made these ten years possible.

Together, you and The Steinway Series at Silo Hill have demonstrated the power of music—its universality, its ability to bring people together, and its extraordinary capacity to create community. 

Seventy artists, countless unforgettable performances, friendships formed, and $160,000 raised in the fight against Parkinson’s disease: that is a legacy of which  we can all be very proud.
